Two Thousand And Five
I’m going to have to say that I am quite relieved that 2005 has finally come to a close. It has been — without a doubt — the most eventful year of my entire life. And let me be the first to tell you that eventful doesn’t always mean great.
Oh 2005, remember my two year anniversary with Britni (April)? Or that time where I got blind-folded and robbed at gun point (March) in a home invasion? And let’s not forget the days following where I found that 6gb iPod Mini (April) in the park? But there is so much I wouldn’t dare forget… like all the great memories in the Quenyan dorms (March) or our memorable first place finish in the Business Plan Competition (June) and third place finish in the Extreme Computing Challenge (June)?
But 2005 wasn’t just hankey pankey. Remember when I graduated from UC Irvine with my bachelor’s degree (June)? Or that chance encounter with my general manager about being laid off (May) as a co-op? Then, of course, news came that I was to pack up my belongings (August) and move to Seattle to work for Microsoft. Then came Fall; when one of my younger cousins’ was diagnosed (November) with cancer and my delovely (November) unexpectedly turned 21. I bought my first house (September) at the age 21. And then I quietly turned 22 (December).
I suppose in many respects, this is the best part of running a blog. You get to look back on a long year and see where you have been, where you are now and how terrible your writing has become.
See you all in the new year.
Adieu. Navid.
