Navid,

I came accross your blog through some links and I have to honestly say that I bookmarked your feed (Live Bookmark) right away in Firefox.

Just like Detroit Monkey said, your writing style and the way that you express your opinions is why you have many avid readers of your blog. Even if some of your posts do not concern me or have absolutely nothing to do with anything, I still read it. Why? Because somehow, you keep the reader interested with lil’ jokes and stuff in the middle.

Now regarding this post, you know what? I have realized the same thing. When I first made my appereance in the blog scene in 2003, I had very few to no visitors. But soon, when I checked my stats, I was amazed at the results. In 2002, I had a very simple counter that would change even with a refresh. Now with my host at 1and1, I am privelaged to use a very high tech web statistics system. And I just checked my stats, and alone in February 2005, I’ve had 5171 UNIQUE visitors. That figure is just so superior to what I had in 2002. This all goes to show that, I do actually have visitors who come and read the content. Not all comment on every post but many (guessing from the numbers) enjoy what I write and come back. This is the same for you.

And again, just like Detroit Monkey said, Keep doing what you’re doing because it seems to be working!

I appreciate the kind words, Navid.
But to tell you the truth, I always check your site and look at it with admiration. I mean, not every post you make is salient or ground-breaking. If that were the case, you’d likely be writing more than a blog. It’s true that I don’t really care about Wells Fargo or your finals schedule.

The reason I do come to your site and admire it, aside from the Audrey graphic and charming theme, is your writing style. I’ve read posts that you’ve written about what would otherwise be completely mundane, but that you have managed to make amusing and/or poignant to me through your diction and crafty use of subtlety.

I look at the crap I put on my site, and while some of it may be of interest in content, it lacks the subtle witticism and satirical conceit that your writings have. Your delivery makes me envious.

Keep doing what you do. It makes yours one of my favorite blogs to read.

Writing in itself really shows your personality. Whether you’re writing about some seriously philisophical subject or the cafeteria menu. You have people who read this stuff, as your comments and site statistics will show you, which is a feat on it’s own. You always have a memory in everyone who passes your writings, or sees you in person.

PS: You are your own worst critic. Think about it.

I’ve been feeling the same with my blog.. that ‘damn, I have readers? Aaah I better publish more worthy stuff, and more regularly!’

On the other hand, as someone on the other end here, I just come for whatever you write, not what you write under compulsion!
