Oh shit, I suck.

It is no secret. The quality of my entries has slowly been deteriorating as time has gone by. Swing by the archives and read pretty much any lengthy entry and you will realize how much I suck now. Not to say that anything I wrote previously has any significance at all but come on… anything is better than what I have been writing about recently. I used to be funny and insightful — damn it — or at least I thought so.

I came across Detroit Monkey’s blog after he had listed me on his blogroll. I decided to read some of his content and I realized that he had come to my website probably through a series of links and then thought (and I have no idea why) that my website was good enough to return to. Now, don’t get me wrong. I am completely flattered. But then I suddenly realized the shameful truth: people actually read my website. This epiphany hit and I suddenly turned red and flustered with pure embarrassment. I looked over my website only to realize its an eternally half-completed piece of bologna with the past 10+ entries simply being garbage content. If there was one way to make judgments about me it sure as hell would be through my website. And my website was by no means of an imagination how I had hoped to portray myself, my life and my (so-called) legacy. Therefore, there’s a discrepancy. I really need to write better entries.

As with the blog of Mike Wolf who passed away some weeks ago while his website eerily stayed quite alive, I wouldn’t want these last few entries to be entries remembered at all. In fact, I have so many drafts that I have been meaning to publish that I really ought to get around to that sooner than later. You never know. I may be dead. And I mean that in the sincerest form. I think Mike Wolf’s website shows the oddity that our content — may it writings, art or any other type of work — will undoubtedly outlast our existence. That is definitely something to think about next time you are writing, drawing or what have you.

Finally, I should note that I think Detroit Monkey’s website is exceptionally awesome. He pretty much has done what I had envisioned on doing (as far as layout goes) for years now. Sadly, I suck at design and art — and this was the best I could come up with. But I promise that I will continue developing until this website looks better and better. But not without writing some real content.

Adieu. Navid.
