New England Patriots

Patriots Rule YouReally? Need I say more? I have long been a fan of the New England Patriots and it only brings me great pleasure to know that they are simply demolishing all whom stand in their way. Now, since most of my reader base are mere intellectuals with no real fascination with sports — especially violent and jock headed sports such as football — I must bring you all up to speed. The New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles are going head to head in what is referred to as the most important television event of the year: The Super Bowl. Of course, the best part of the Super Bowl, besides the hors d’oeuvres and soda, are what I like to call the Commercial Olympics and their ludicrous prices. This year a 30-second spot during Super Bowl 39 (or what they like to call XXXiX) is worth $2.4 million. That’s $80,000 per second. Now, when you factor in the ~$1 million for the production costs, you’re looking to pay roughly $113,000 per second. That’s a lot of cash for a few seconds of airtime. It is this reason why I’m probably not going to advertise with them this year. Haha. But seriously could you just imagine me advertising during the half-time show for my personal website? I’d get major traffic… mainly asking “who the fuck is this guy?”

Anyway, I just wanted to note that the Patriots and I go way back. You can even ask my good friend and neighbor, Ian Buckles, back when we used to play NFL Quarterback ‘97: the Patriots and I were inseparable. You can even ask my dear cousin, Arshia, when we used to play NFL Blitz 2000. You can even ask the poor suckers who doubted and bet against my Pats and I back in ‘03 and ‘04.

What gives with the over use of the bold functionality? I’m nuts.

Adieu. Navid.
