Cell Phone Woes

I should probably note that my cell phone is currently ill and having seizures. Apparently, there is a chipset revolution which is overthrowing the central logical unit. My cell phone randomly accepts, declines and voicemails calls… does not allow me to make any outgoing calls and listening to my voicemail is eerily identical to listening to the dial tone. Incoming calls are pre-screened or simply ignored and text messages are apparently on a different time zone, arriving no less than three hours late… sometimes. Voicemails are often duplicate or not recorded at all. The behavior has been a bit sketchy and no solid pattern can be assessed. The medication is not helping and the pills are hard to swallow.

If you’ve been calling me, now you know what’s up. I apologize in advance. On the flip side, this is terrible news because it means I’ll need to acquire a new cell phone relatively soon. I hate buying cell phones because all of them suck. They are either too fancy, too expensive or just plain useless. I don’t need a camera on my phone, I don’t need my phone to be 0.001mm thick and weigh an incredible 0.72 pico-ounces and no — I don’t need 1600 x 1200 resolution on a 3″ screen; I just want to be able to make and receive calls, read and write text messages — intuitively and trouble free. Am I a minority, Nokia?

Adieu. Navid.
