The road to hell is paved with good intentions…

Ah, yes… an exceptionally productive day was had. Not only was I able to rear-end a large truck on the freeway but I also got a chance to finally finish the transition to Windows 2003 Server for my home computer. I’m telling you, this current configuration is amazing. I’m running Windows 2003 Server, Office 2003 and NAV Corporate Edition 8.1. This has been a relatively huge jump since Windows XP SP1, Office XP and NAV 2003 Professional. I am exceptionally pleased. The performance, reliability and security attributes are outstanding. It’s definitely not for everyone because you do need to have quite a considerable amount of knowledge in order to utilize Windows 2003 Server for daily home use.

What else did I do? I signed up for Blockbuster’s Unlimited Mail-In program (it’s just like NetFlix). I reckon I’ll be knocking off a shit load of movies off my Movies I Need to Watch List. I joined this Blockbuster deal with four-weeks free trial membership. It should lend me to quite a few free movie rentals and if I am not satisfied by the end of this trial, I can always unsubcribe. I was motived to subscribe for the Free Desktop PC deal that is going around. If you follow the link and join, and get ten others to join as well, you get a moderate nice, new Dell Desktop. I think I already got five down, so we’ll see how it goes. If it works it works, if it doesn’t it doesn’t.

I’ve started working on Audio Catalogger v2.0 again, since I really do need to finish it — mainly for my own damn personal use — but also because I’d like to finish the entire StudentSoft.org project. I’ll be mirroring this site later at another address later on this year. I’m really trying to get ready to break out onto the software scene. I’ve started filling out graduate school applications.. MBA, JD and Masters in Computer Science. I have a lot of options which means I have a lot of thinking to do. I really don’t want to waste too much money on applications (~$110/each) just randomly applying to a ass load of schools. I have my preferences almost sorted out mentally; UC Irvine, USC, Pepperdine, U of Washington head the list. Business? Law? Computer Science? It’s all a mess right now. I just want to make sure I make the most of the next several years.

I don’t want to be stuck in a cube for the rest of my life. Please don’t make me.

Adieu. Navid.
