Another One Bites the Dust..

Hi Navid – as per your request, I’m sending you this mail to let you know about the results of your interview day at Microsoft. Unfortunately, the results are not what we had hoped that they would be. The decision has been made that Microsoft will not be able to offer you an internship this summer. As I’m sure you know, the competition for these positions is pretty fierce and I hope that you feel proud to have made it as far as you did in the process. The interviewers who met with you were very impressed with many of your skills and attributes. Unfortunately, they just didn’t feel that you quite had what they’re looking for at this time. I really hope that you will continue to keep Microsoft in your sights for a full-time position following graduation. Many candidates who are not offered internships find that, with another year of education and experience under their belt, an interview for a full-time position has a different outcome!! As a matter of policy, I’m not really at liberty to give you any specific feedback about your interview performance, but please feel free to contact me if you have any general questions or would like to talk about these results.

Again, I very much hope that you’ll consider Microsoft again next spring when you’re looking for a full-time position. I hope that you had a great experience during your interview day – I know that I truly enjoyed working with you, Navid. Good luck!!
